Lesson Ten: Celebrate Everything
If you’ve been around Lucid for any amount of time, you know we believe in celebrating.
Big wins. Small wins. Team wins. Personal wins. The moments that make you stop, laugh, cheer, raise a glass, or gather in a parking lot with your coworkers because something good happened—and good things deserve to be acknowledged.
That’s not accidental, it’s part of who we are.
Over the last ten years, we’ve learned that celebration is not just about parties (although we do those really well). It’s about recognizing effort. It’s about sharing momentum. It’s about reminding people that the work they do matters and the wins we create together are worth pausing for. Because what we do is hard.
Recruiting is full of moving pieces, changing timelines, high expectations, tough searches, and real people making real decisions about their teams and careers. It takes resilience, adaptability, consistency, communication, and trust. So when something goes right, we celebrate it.
As Bethany, our CEO, and John, our COO, put it:
“Celebration is important because what we do is hard, and life is short—it should be full of celebrations. Embrace the wins. Share the wins. Rising tides lift all ships. And around here, we do it for the JUJU.”
That last part is important.
At Lucid, juju is real.
It’s the energy that builds when people are cheering each other on. It’s the momentum that comes from sharing good news (or getting a car wash). It’s the belief that wins are contagious, and when one person succeeds, the whole team feels it.
Celebration creates connection.
It brings people together in the middle of busy days and demanding seasons. It gives us a chance to recognize the people behind the results. It turns individual success into shared momentum.
And sometimes, it just makes work more fun.
That matters too.
From in-office shoutouts and everyday victories to legendary Cinco de Mayo and Oktoberfest parking lot parties, Lucid celebrations have become part of our story. They reflect the kind of company we’ve worked hard to build—one where people show up, work hard, care deeply, and still make room for joy.
We believe building something meaningful should include moments that feel meaningful.
And this celebration feels like the right place to close our 10 Lessons for 10 Years series.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve reflected on the values, mindsets, and moments that have shaped Lucid over the last decade:
Be recklessly optimistic.
Get scrappy.
Stay adaptable.
Show up every day.
Build real relationships.
Communicate openly.
Lead with transparency.
Take care of your people.
Make culture the work.
And celebrate everything.
Each lesson is different, but they all point back to the same truth: Lucid has always been built by people:
People who believe.
People who care.
People who show up.
People who trust each other.
People who know when to work hard and when to celebrate the win.
Ten years in, we’re proud of what we’ve built. But more than that, we’re grateful—for our team, our clients, our candidates, our consultants, and our community.
Thank you for being part of the Lucid story.
Here’s to the lessons we’ve learned, the people who helped teach them, and the wins still ahead.
We’ll be celebrating those too.
